The AIFC Court, the International Arbitration Centre, and Signum Law Firm, initiated the Leagues’ creation with the intention to provide a platform for leading general counsel in Kazakhstan and Eurasia to meet and discuss topical issues pertaining to their work and related law and business practices.
On 16 April the Committee ("Committee") on Constitutional Legislation, Judicial System and Law Enforcement Bodies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by its Chairman Mr. Georgiy Kim, held their visiting session at the AIFC Court and IAC premises at EXPO-2017.
PRESS RELEASE: Memorandums of Understanding signed between the AIFC Court, International Arbitration Centre and the Law Society of England and Wales
On 4 March the AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre (“IAC”) signed Memorandums of Understanding with the Law Society of England and Wales. The Law Society is a strategic partner of the AIFC Court and IAC in providing and developing the rule of law in their respective jurisdictions and internationally.
Today the AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre (“the IAC”) officially launched their new e-filing system in Astana, “eJustice”, the first to operate in the Central Asia region. The system was developed in cooperation with the AIFC Court and IAC IT partner from Singapore, Crimson Logic.
Mr. Christopher Campbell-Holt, the Registrar and Chief Executive of the AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre (“the IAC”), has been awarded an Honorary Professorship by the M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University (“KAZGUU”) in recognition of the significant contribution he has made to the development of the University.
The International Arbitration Centre at the AIFC has continued to extend its panel of arbitrators and mediators. Currently it has 28 independent, highly qualified and respected international arbitrators and mediators from a variety of jurisdictions and its Panel now includes representation from Kazakhstan.
From 18 to 23 June the AIFC Court and the International Arbitration Centre at the AIFC, in cooperation with the AIFC Bureau for Continuing Professional Development, is holding their first AIFC Legal Week (“Legal Week”) in Astana.
